Dead of winter, and freebooting on a long ship to Oslo

So its been an interesting January in the Northern part of Europe. With the Danes surviving on their usual diet of black attire and Apple products.

Past the halfway point (collective awwwww) of my exchange, which is a mix bag of emotions ranging from despondent, blithe, woebegone, enervated and hungry, among the 1000s of other adjectives.
To cheer me and you up from this morose passage here is me standing on our canal, which has been frozen during the cold streak.
The beach is that way! Although, its cold and windy and there'll be no chicks or cricket.
During the nice little winter break I've been able to de-stress and commit myself to some srs leisure time, including, but not limited to, movies, TV, snacks, gym, drinking, solving murder mysteries with Inspector Morse and cruising around in some random van called the Mystery Machine with a stoner and his loquacious Dog.
Not too dissimilar from this, they were just more animated characters... ba dum tish
This past weekend though I was able to attend the finest city in all of Norway, the serene and bucolic Oslo! Peta and I took the ferry from KBH and 15 hours later we floated into the wharf of this very pretty city. The ferry we embarked upon is supposedly an awesome party boat in the summer but considering its the middle of winter, the only parties consisted of Sherry, oldies music and whole bunch of whingey kids. Pleasant journey nonetheless. While in Oslo we were able to see many interesting sites, museums, statues and the rare native strolling about. How about those exorbitant alcohol prices though hey? Seems like Norway taxes everything, with an emphasis on a fun tax.

Here are some pictures of the trip, with more to be added when i get my greasy hands on Peta's sweet graphically captured memories to nourish my eternally thirsty blog.
